The Book of Common Prayer was first translated into Maori in , and has gone through several translations and a number of different editions since then. This translation of the BCP is commonly called Te Rawiri ("the David"), as the Maori tend to look for words to be attributed to a person of authority. This is not a cookbook, but eating is quite important. The first meal in the book is fish heads, not human ones.
